Tributes have poured in for Simon Warr, the former teacher at the Royal Hospital School, and BBC Radio Suffolk broadcaster has passed away, according to an announcement on his Twitter feed posted by a close friend.
Mr Warr was well-known locally for his reports on non-league rugby and football, including Brantham Athletic, with an instantly recognisable, distinctive voice and style. His BBC work also included appearing on many debate programmes and as the headtecaher on Channel Four's 'That'll Teach 'Em',

Suffolk County Council is looking to reduce its carbon footprint by investing £9.8m in street lighting, if an LED street lighting replacement project is approved.
Following a review of its street lighting policy in 2010, and with energy prices set to increase at between 8% and 12% a year, Suffolk County Council has decided the high energy consumption of its existing lanterns could create further pressure on its resources in the near future.Did you know?

Popular Chelmondiston Chinese takeaway Law's Cottage has reopened early after owners Martin and Ruby Law cancelled their annual Far East holiday due to the Coronavirus, known as Covid-19.
The couple had planned to be away until February 26, visiting their daughter Louise in Hong Kong and going to Taiwan, but will open tonight after only getting as far as Dubai.

An Independent funeral director has stepped in to ensure a former soldier from the Royal Anglians is not buried in a 'paupers grave' and has asked for ex-serviceman from the peninsula to attend the service.
Andrew "Paddy McGowan" Devine was only 53 when he passed away with no known family, the cause of death has not been disclosed.

Every year, The Wheatsheaf, Tattingstone nominates a charity for their annual appeal, 2019 was the Blossom Appeal. Breast Cancer has affected many people in this and other local villages and this appeal is helping to build a new Breast Care Centre at Ipswich Hospital to help families and friends cope better with the illness.
The total amount raised was a fantastic £12,835 which was presented to Brian Taylor, Community Fundraising Manager for the Blossom Appeal on Friday 14th February.
