Babergh District Council tonight approved its budget for 2020/21, including an increase in council tax, which will see £5 a year added to the bill of a Band D property.
The good news is services will not be cut, and funding and grants to local communities on the peninsula are set to increase.

South Suffolk MP James Cartlidge has set out his stall after being petitioned to speak up for a stronger Envirnmental Bill.
Shotley Peninsula residents responded to a plea by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, highlighted in Nub News, calling on Mr Cartlidge to speak in Parliament for an Environment Bill that is strong enough to make a meaningful difference in setting ambitious targets and holding MPs to account.

A group of former HMS Ganges trainees have set up a new way for ex-shipmates to buy a range of items related to the old training establishment.
Ken Bushnell, Charlie Hughes, Stan Wright and Jon Windust all served at HMS Ganges in Shotley Gate and wanted to supply quality products, known in the Royal Navy as 'slops' as decent prices.
