It has been another amazing year for Shotley Peninsula Nub News thanks to all of you as our readers.

We have added another 108,000 unique users (individual readers) over the course of of 2022 taking us to almost 310,00 all told.

We also had more than 357,00 page views in the calendar year taking the total to more than 1.14m after smashing through the million mark earlier in the year, ensuring we have stayed as the Google-ranked number one online news platform, which means people come to us first for all their Peninsula news, features, sport and events.

To that end, we also thank our sponsors, Wavensmere/Galliard Homes, Shotley Marina, The Outlook and Chapman Stickels estate agents, without whom we could not continue.

National events obviously captured the attention but Nub news ensured we captured the local essence and reported events, such as the Queen's Jubilee, subsequent passing, and then the King's Proclamation.

It was quite a year for hyperlocal news as well and these were reflected in the Google analytics, which showed what the most read stories were.

These were topped by the traffic passing of young, and much loved Lee Adams dad, son, husband, and well-know sportsman.

Incidents on the Orwell Bridge were of huge interest, as you wanted to know about the updated facts about delays, river rescues and accidents.

Pop star Ed Sheeran's visit to the peninsula piqued widespread visits to our online news site, along with subsequent follow ups.

Successful fund-raisers epitomised the site of peninsula people's hearts even in these straitened times, with the Tractor Run a fine example.

Businesses doing well, as reflected by our feature on the new Red Lion owners, and events at The Outlook were well read; as were updates at Ganges and the ever increasing number of developments in Shotley, Wherstead and Brantham show concerns people have here with new application and we cover all that in depth.

These are the top 10 best read stories by Shotley Peninsula Nub News' unique users.
