Tributes pour in for much loved peninsula sportsman and family man

Hundreds of touching tributes have been made to a 40-year man who passed away suddenly.

Lee Adams from Shotley was a renowned angler, darts player, footballer and more recently a youth coach at Holbrook Hornets.

The ground-worker was married with wife Cassie expecting a baby due next February, his young boys play football locally and he has another daughter from a previous marriage, who he saw regularly

Along with brothers Shaun, Paul and Ste; Lee was well known in local football circles, enjoying success with the Shotley Rose team.

Many former teammates and opponents sent messages of condolences to the family, including his mum and dad Kim and Graham.

James Nunn said: "The most generous, kind, loving man I have ever met.

"Lee Adams will be forever in everyone's memories as you made everyone feel amazing when they were in your company!

So many memories that I will cherish till the day i see you again!

"My Love goes to all of the family and friends of Lee.

"Proud to call him a friend! An amazing guy taken far to early! Completely heart broken!"

Lee was also an international angler, with world class casting skills.

Craig Mortimer posted: "The time you had for people in the sport was incredible, it was a blessing knowing you, I will never forget watching how effortless u made casting a fishing rod, RIP Lee, my thoughts are with all your family."

Family friends Adele Smithsummed up many other peoples thoughts when she posted on social media: "A deeply sad and unexpected loss , Lee was such a lovely kind gentleman, taken too soon. "

Family friend and photographic student Lauren Hyde remembers dancing the night away with Lee and his friends at a recent party and said she was 'heartbroken' at the news.

Babergh district councillor Derek Davis added: "Lee was not particularly political but cared about people, especially youngsters, and quite often spoke to me about how we could make things better in the village.

"He was incredibly proud of all his family, loved football and wanted to give back to the sport.

"On a more personal note, Lee was quietly encouraging of my son as a young referee and looked out for him at Holbrook.

"A top, top bloke, and my condolences go out to Cassie, and all of the extended Adams family."
