Warnings about medication shortage

Peninsula patients are being advised to continue using their local dispensaries after warnings of a potential medication shortage at Holbrook and Shotley surgeries.

Difficulties in getting certain types of medicine is part of a national problem, which is being put down to a variety of issues in the supply line.

A leading peninsula football coach is broadly in support of a ban on young players heading the ball but has called on the Suffolk FA to set out clear guidelines.

The FA issued a statement stating children of primary school age would be banned from heading a football in training, and youngsters between 12 – 16 would be subjected to a graduated approach, but no specific guidelines have been sent to coaches yet.

Vandals have attacked Chelmondiston pavilion

Fed up volunteers have vowed to get tough on vandals attacking play equipment and the pavilion in Chelmondiston.

The offenders took their lives in their hands by trying to cut through a conduit protecting live electric wires, caused damage to the roof of the pavilion and tried to destroy part of the children's play area.
