Former Babergh council chamber being turned into houses

Work to build dozens of homes on former council office sites in Hadleigh will get underway this summer, council chiefs say following delays to the schemes.

Babergh District Council's old Hadleigh base in Corks Lane has planning permission for 57 new homes and had been anticipated to start at the tail end of 2019, but a report being presented to Babergh cabinet this week confirmed there had been delays.

Brantham boss Michael Brother hailed on loan Ipswich Town keeper Toby Egan as the Blue Imps beat promotion favourites Wroxham.

South Suffolk Labour look to making constituency more challenging for Tories

Here in South Suffolk, the Labour Party has been in clear second place to the Tories for the last three general elections and although still some way behind, there have been times in the past where it has been a close election. In 1997 and 2001 for example, it was all to play for. So how does the Labour Party become competitive again in South Suffolk? There are no simple answers. In truth, it relies, in part, on the Conservative party failing to deliver as all governments eventually do.
