National League Aldershot Town's 7-4 FA Cup First Round win at League Town side Swindon Town was the stand out result from the competition this weekend.
Among the star performers from the FA Cup giant-killing side was attacker Josh Stokes from Shotley.
Attacking midfielder Stokes scored one, had an assist with another and also had a goal disallowed for offside in the stunning victory at the County Ground.
Tommy Widdrington's Aldershot got off to a rapid start, with Stokes playing the ball to Jack Barham in the first minute as he hit the first of a hat-trick.
Stokes, who signed for Aldershot in the summer from AFC Sudbury, finished a good move involving Barham and Lorent Tolaj (who bagged a brace) to get his FA Cup goal.
In front of a 1,247, Swindon mounted a late fight back after Stokes was replaced in the 72nd minute but it was all too little to late.
The manner of the victory meant Aldershot Town become the first non-league club to score seven goals away at a Football League club in FA Cup history.
