Manager James Parker put Tattingstone United's 4-0 thumping by Old Newton United down to 'complacency and a poor warm up'.

in one of those days when everything that could go wrong, did, Tattingstone were the architects of their own downfall.

"We came to the game thinking were were going to win, said Parker. "We were complacent really poor start we looked dejected as soon as we went down, we looked as if we had already lost the game.

"The warm up was not good and we started poor. Old Newton played well and they caused us problems, their number 11 dropped in really well and caused us problems and when we tried to problem solve but it was harder when you are down to 10 men.

"Also, we could not put the ball in the net we have enough chances."

Tattingstone conceded two goals in the opening five minutes through poor play, the third came from their own corner, as Old Newton easily broke away and put away the one on one.

The visitors to the Boure Vale ground had five shots in the first half, scoring from three.

Visiting keeper Pawel Leszczynski saved a penalty from skipper Marius Aitkens after the hard working Lesal Thompson was brought down.

Leszczynski made a string of other important blocks as Tattingstone pushed hard to get back in the game.

Parker changed things around at half-time and Tattingstone were on the front foot. Substitute Elliot Crowe in particular made a positive contribution with his cajoling and attempts on goal.

But Tattingtsone suffered another set back early in the second half when substitute Chris Baker was shown a straight red card by referee Paul Kitson for a two footed challenge and Parker had no complaint about the decision.

He added: "We tried to change it but we had the sending off which put the game to bed. I thought tt was sending off to be honest."

The final nail in the coffin came in the last minute when Tatt keeper Arlon Clarke, who had also made some good saves throughout, was sent the wrong way as Old Newton stuck away a spot kick for their fourth.
