Peninsula success at Felixstowe Triathlon

Harley Brundle completed Felixstowe Triathlon Sprint race

Two Shotley athletes performed well in the Felixstowe Triathlon on Sunday morning.

Harley Brundle finished ninth overall out of 89 competitors and completed the Sprint course in 1hr:13.06.

Harley swam 750metres in the North Sea off Cobbold's Point, cycled 18.8km and ran five kilometres.

The swimmers were well marshalled while at sea with Harley's Shotley sailing Club mate Carl Taylor on the safety rib manned by volunteers from the Suffolk????

Meanwhile, Shotley mum Samantha Bateman finished the Super Sprint Triathlon 31st overall in 1hr:07.02.

Samantha made up time with a good run and finishing second in her category on that stage in the Super Sprint..

Her race was made up of a 300m pool swim, 18.8km cycle ride and a three km run.

The Felixstowe Super Sprint Triathlon race was won by Robert Smith in 50 minutes.
