We knew Shotley peninsula Nub News was popular as the go to place for everything you wanted to know about our area, now Google Analytics has shown we have topped an astonishing one million page views since we started publishing a little over two years ago.
Despite not being a slave to click bait as many other online publishers are known to be, our mix of hyperlocal news, features, What's On, property, jobs and more have seen the approximately 10,000 residents on the peninsula, as well as many other visitors, regularly use Nub News to find out what is going on here.
It is no surprise that we are ranked number one by Google as the top online platform that people on the Shotley peninsula and further afield come to find their hyperlocal news and features.
While, like everywhere in the UK, crime stories, car crashes, fires and speeders, are popular among you the readers, we are delighted that the good news stories and hyperlocal issues are among the most popular articles we have published.
This month alone, we have covered nearly 100 stories, including the resurgence of a youth football team, the Jubilee Peninsula Tractor Run, the Barge Race and highlighted a fund raising UK Coastline walker.
Nub News has also been the only outlet this year to cover the Queen's jubilee in depth from across the peninsula, from Brantham to Shotley with Chelmondiston and others in between.
We have been at the heart of community and, more often than not, first with the stories you want to read - good or bad.
In fact, here are some of the best read articles since we started in February 2020.
- Ganges mast restoration plans
- Crews work through the night to salvage pier digger
- Griff Rhys Jones cycle path row
- Shellfish collectors invade beach

We have focussed on individuals on the Shotley peninsula, quite often ordinary people doing extraordinary things within our communities, especially during the pandemic.
We have covered award ceremonies, recognised those missed by the wider media, brought you heart warming stories about this that live among us.
We will continue to do that.
