Peninsula parish council offering £25 gift cards

Chelmondiston Parish Council has successfully received a grant to help the residents in the village.
Councillors have allocated £1,000, which means it an help up to 40 households in the parish.
They will offer £25.00 in the form of a Food Gift Card for a supermarket of the recipient's choice or if they can prefer to use a local store, a cheque up to the value of £25.00 will be allocated with a valid receipt or invoice.
"Once the council has receive the till receipt/invoice, it can raise the cheque the following day. Or £25.00 in the form of a gift card for essential items (such as back to school clothing) or again a £25.00 cheque with a valid receipt or invoice.
A Chelmondiston parish council spokeswoman said: "We appreciate that it may look to some that we have missed the opportunity to help, however we wanted to ensure that we have everything in place and this has taken time.
"Lockdown for some has eased and people are getting back to work. However, that is not the case for everyone." The application is straightforward and applicants are assured that their application remains private and confidential.
