Carers from Spring Lodge were out putting smiles on faces once more as they shared cup cakes in Holbrook today.

Aimee and Vanessa said their own special thanks to the staff at Holbrook Surgery and the Co-op for all their wonderful work over the past six months, during the Covid-19 pandemic.

They also made the day for Holbrook residents, including those at Jervis Close and a passer-by by giving out the yummy cup-cakes, topped with a cherry.

Aimee Davey, activities coordinator at Spring Lodge, said: "This is just our little way of thanking those people who have worked so hard fro the Holbrook community in these difficult times.

"We also wanted to just cheer people up with the cup cakes and the reception we got was lovely."

The Woolverstone care home, run by Kingsley HealthCare, also surprised Shotley residents recently by handing out the tasty treats baked and decorated by the home's award-winning chef Andy Gray.
