Coronavirus pandemic: Community spirit heightens as more help comes forward

More and more businesses have come forward to help those being advised to go into isolation on the peninsula.
Nub News yesterday highlighted how kindness was going viral with the outstanding work being done by volunteers, either from local businesses or individuals, today we can add more generous souls to the list.
Since then numerous people contacted Nub News to offer services, or support.
Lasan Indian takeaway and chip shop, has promised to start delivering to customers in Shotley, Shotley Gate, Erwarton and potentially Chelmondiston.
Owner Mohammed Ali said: "We are very much a community business with many regular customers. I hate to think that they will not come and miss out, even though we are takeaway and not a restaurant so there are never many people here at one time.
"I do understand though with the potential spread of the virus everywhere, so we are going to offer a delivery service for thos most vulnerable to the Coronavirus.

The Lasan is closed Tuesdays, but reopens on Wednesday. Go to the Lasan website for details.
Woody's The Butchers in Holbrook has offered a delivery service to the elderly and they can be contacted on 01473 327835 to place an order.
Arron Rose delivers newspaper to all parts of the peninsula and is prepared to deliver free for the 12 weeks recommended by the government for over-70s to undergo social distancing.
Mr Rose said: "If anyone in the needs or knows a neighbour or someone not online that requires a delivery please give them our details
"Quote '12 weeks free' and the delivery service will be free of charge for new orders."

Tiffers, the homeless bus shelter, will take up to eight people at a higher risk of being affected by Covid-19 to the Iceland store in Ipswich on Wednesday morning after the frozen food specialist offered an exclusive opening between 9am-11am for the over 70s and those with underlying medical conditions.
Premier Stores Shotley and Hollingsworth's Stores in Chelmondiston, along with the Co-op at Brantham and Holbrook were highlighted yesterday as offering free delivery services.
Unfortunately, the situation has also meant plenty of casualties with numerous of events being cancelled.
Soup a Lunch, the WI and Knit and Natter at Shotley Village Hall have all been called off.
Stutton community café has had to suspend its self-service facility, although people can still buy their cakes, drinks and light lunches to takeaway.
Jenny Morris, a shop committee member, has called for more volunteers, who are not in the most vulnerable category, to get in touch and help with various tasks. Jenny can be contacted on 328984 or email [email protected].
Popular exercise teacher Amanda Haskell has had to cancel all her classes throughout the peninsula.
Suffolk FA has suspended all football matches until further notice, including all youth games on the peninsula.
