Michael Brothers finds new club

Michael Brothers has been snapped up by Essex Senior League club Little Oakley, days after leaving his managerial role at Brantham Athletic.

Brothers was at the Acorns to see his new club go down 4-3 to rivals Clacton on Saturday but did not take part after the signing was swiftly completed.

He teams back up with former co-manager Matty Carmichael, where the duo enjoyed a successful partnership at Brantham by winning the Eastern Counties league cup.

Brothers could make his debut for the Acorns at home against Sawbridgeworth Town on Saturday.

A Little Oakley spokesperson said: "We welcome Michael to the Acorns, he needs no introduction to the local football scene and joins us as a player after leaving his managerial position at Brantham Athletic and will add some much needed experience to the squad.

"Thanks to Brantham for assisting in the transfer."

Brothers told Nub News last week he was keen to get back into football after leaving Brantham last Tuesday: Full story here...
