Plucky Brantham Athletic have been rewarded with a home draw in the Emirates FA Cup first round qualifying against Southern league side St Ives Town.

The Imps pulled off an excellent 1-0 win at Great Wakering Rovers on Saturday to win through and be one of the 234 clubs taking part in this stage of the world's most famous cup competitions.

Although they were without key players, including manager Michael Brothers, battered Brantham won through thanks to a Jack Marshall winner to set up the tie against St Ives Town, set for next Tuesday, September 22, with £2,250 going to the winner and £750 for the losers.

Although St Ives play at much higher level, the Imps will go into the game with no fear after beating Rovers, who play at level 4, and Brantham have not lost in their four games so far this season, on top of going 15 unbeaten before last season ended prematurely.
