Parties, picnics, pets, top class cycling, afternoon tea, hog roasts, along with fetes, football and fancy dress, the peninsula has the lot spread over five wonderful.

If you fancy getting out and about around the Shotley peninsula over the next few days, here are some of our picks.

Starting today Thursday with:

A Tapas party at The Outlook

Party the afternoon and evening today, tomorrow and Saturday.

Brantham Village Jubilee Party

Face painting, bouncy castles, bowls, and a Mad Hatter's tea party are among the events in Brantham today.

Mainly at the Brantham Leisure Centre, indoors and outside.

Gates open at 12pm although other events start earlier

Friday: Chelmfest

A vast array of fun is planned at Chelmondiston playing field.

From live music, mini-football, pony rides and much more for all the family.

BBQ in the afternoon Dolly's Pizzas from 6pm.

Queens Afternoon Jubilee Tea

The Outlook, Fox's Marina

12noon- 4pm
