Shotley primary school will also be closed on Monday after it was revealed a pupil had been assessed by a local GP as probably contracting Covid-19.

The primary school will be going through a deep clean after a pupil, who also attends Shotley Kidzone has showed symptoms of the Coronavirus.

The closures come as Public Health England confirm three confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Suffolk, understood to not include this youngster.

"The school have now also put out at statement that they will be closed Monday 16th to also deep clean and aim to re open along side Kidzone on Tuesday 17th March.

"If you are showing symptoms and are concerned please seek advise and Inform the setting straight away. Advice given is also self isolate and do not attend settings or schools.

"Thank you for your support throughout."

Parents have welcomed both the primary school and Kidzone's decision with one father telling Nub News: "This is an eminently sensible decision. Protecting our children is the school's priority and as inconvenient as it maybe for some parents, it is the right thing to do."
