Christmas is coming
Christmas is coming

Whether it is a Christmas shopping event or fair, works or family pub meal, and of course an encounter with Santa and his elves, we have the definitive round up for the Shotley peninsula

The festive season is fast approaching and you can book your events starting today.

Get along to Woolverstone Christmas Fair this weekend to pick up some special presents.

For those fortunate enough to live in Shotley and Shotley Gate, get that extra special visit on Christmas Day from the big man himself, ask Santa and his elves to visit your house and bring your children an extra present.

Elves hand Santa your present from his sleigh and knock on the door early on Christmas morning in a long running tradition based at the Shotley Rose. Full details of size, where and how to make sure Santa does not miss you can be found here.

For those that love getting bespoke presents for their friends and family there is nothing better than visiting one of the peninsula's wonderful Christmas fairs.

Everyone is welcome to get along to the Royal Hospital School's Christmas Fayre on December 10.

The fayre, which is in its sixth year, will bring to attendees the magical Christmas atmosphere, as a wonderland of seasonal delights will be on offer with exclusive gifts from more than 65 independent retailers ranging from art, clothes, jewellery, accessories, home decor, craft and skincare, through to delicious festive food and drinks, and yuletide entertainment.

The fayre will be open from 10am to 4pm and is free to attend.

More gifts will be on offer at Constable Park's Christmas Fair where you can pick up festive foods, craft stalls, along with much more, with the added bonus of live entertainment..

Meanwhile, the long running Peninsula Craft Fair will be on at The Shipwreck at Shotley Marina on December 10.

Then the Saturday afternoon Punch and Pie is on the billing at Woolverstone Far, with 10 stalls offering original wares: nautical art, pen and ink drawing, textile gifts and cards, Thai beadwork and bags, Peninsula books, cosmetics, cards/prints, woodturning, pottery, Christmas wrapping paper, cards.
