AONB team urge visitors to stay away from beauty spots
Visitors to the Shotley peninsula are being reminded that driving to beauty spots is not deemed as essential travel and people should say at home.

"It is clear that the best thing to do right now is to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.
"Heading to a beauty spot is not essential travel and will not limit the spread of the virus. Please #StayAtHome. Now is not the time to visit."
People who live within the AONB can use the area as part of there daily exercises and for their mental wellbeing, but are urged to follow the [Lhttps://www.gov.uk/government/news/coronavirus-guidance-on-access-to-green-spaces[L+]government guidelines.[.L]
"If you are able to go out the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is still open for restorative fresh air and sunshine, exercise, and mood boosting as long as you follow the latest Government guidance," said a spokesperson. "With 155 square kilometres of estuaries, quiet woodlands, windswept coasts and mile after mile of footpath or bridleway there is plenty of space for you to enjoy the outdoors safely if you are able to."
The Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB team has also adopted a working from home policy where possible and pointed out if one of the branded vehicles is spotted, it is probably being used by one of its partners for essential deliveries.
