Takeaway review: The White Horse, Tattingstone.

With many pubs and takeaways fighting a bitter battle just to survive, the Hungry Hack has decided to try out each one of the menus we get to know about.

Our intrepid writer started at the White Horse in Tattingstone and went for traditional fish and chips (pictured above).

Decent portion of chips with a fair sized piece of haddock for £8.95 did the job perfectly.

The chips were good, and the batter still had a crispy texture even after the journey home.

There was a simple choice on the menu, including scampi, sausages, both with chips, chicken curry and rice, and the prices are very reasonable.

I ordered by phoned earlier in the afternoon with the lovely Lisa and met chef Simon at a pre-arranged time and place to pick up my meal, not quite Russian spyish but a bit surreal nonetheless.

Overall, a big thumb's up and well worth a visit for anyone in the Tattingstone area. Use them while you can and meals are available lunchtimes and evenings at the moment.
