Peninsula Green candidates make their pitch
Daniel Potter, Green Party Candidate for Orwell Ward
As a Green I shall be an independent minded councillor who is not told how to vote by his party.
I will work hard and dedicate time to the ward and its constituent parishes of Tattingstone, Wherstead, Belstead, Woolverstone, Freston and Chelmondiston.
I have actively campaigned for the Green Party locally on raw sewage in our rivers, supported food banks with warm clothing during the winter, raised concerns about increased traffic affecting village life when overnight roadworks are taking place and supported local trade in the ward post covid.
With the current economics affecting people in Orwell with the cost of living crisis, I will listen and represent you. We already have a record of winning here with Jane Gould, your current Green councillor elected in 2019 to represent the ward.
As a party we work hard on local issues throughout the year, and are seen listening to people's concerns, not just at election time.
If elected this year I will look to continue the work and progress that the Greens have made in Orwell, and be your voice when campaigning and engaging with the community.
Vote for a candidate who listens, works hard for Orwell and for getting things done.
Carrie Wheeler, Green Party Candidate for Stour Ward
I am a retired biologist with a keen interest in the environment, wildlife conservation and social justice. I have lived on the Shotley peninsula for 35 years. I enjoy walking its footpaths and (in summer!) swimming in the Stour! I have 2 grown up children. My son and his family live in Stour ward.
As a councillor I would hope to contribute to the protection of our environment, as well as representing the views of residents on all aspects of Babergh Council policy.
