Takeaway Review: The Lasan, Shotley

With many pubs and takeaways fighting a bitter battle just to survive the Hungry Hack has decided to try out each one of the menus we get to know about.

As a regular customer anyway, takeaway from the Lasan was not a new experience for the Hungry Hack, although I was more than happy to take advantage of the new delivery service.

I went for the chicken tikka starter - moist and full of taste, a prawn biriyani - mild spicy, full of flavours, and papadoms with mint sauce and salad.

Top notch as always and for £17 with a delivery charge, very reasonable and very filling.

The delivery was prompt, I had been told about an hour, and it actually arrived 10 minutes before the ETA. I had thought about zapping it the microwave but had no need, as it was still hot.

Mark the driver placed the order a few yards up the garden path, I popped my money into his tub and the exchange was done well within the Covid-19 guidelines.

It was a cash job, but the Lasan is working on being able to take card payments over the phone.

You can find the full menu on their Lasan website on our business directory, and you can scroll through the pictures above for more details.

While delivery is confined the within a couple of miles to the Lasan, Ali and his team are looking to expand that, depending on demand.

Open for takeaway, they will bring it out to you, every day except Tuesday when they are closed, from 5pm. 01473 787033
