Beleaguered Brantham secured their first point of 2024 with a 1-1 draw against Woodbridge Town at the leisure centre last night.

A Kyle Ferguson goal early in the second half halted a run of 10 straight defeats for the Imps in this calendar year.

However, Brantham were unable to hold on and the Woodpeckers equalised to stay two places ahead of 16th placed Brantham in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.

The game was the replayed match following an abandoned fixture at the beginning of the campaign, which was halted with the score at 2-0 to the Peckers, due to an injury to keeper Finn Shorten, who subsequently recovered and played last night.

The Imps included new signing Jenson Mulqueen who has signed from Clacton, becoming new management duo Jack Sibson and Tom Austen's first signing.
