Shotley parish council is searching for yet another councillor following the latest resignation.

The casual vacancy arose following the resignation of Jeannette Briscoe who handed in her notice earlier this month due to personal circumstances.

Babergh has announced on its website that if by 7 September, a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by ten electors an election will be held. Otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option by the current councillors.

If an election is called, it will take place not later than 8 November.

This will be the fourth parish council vacancy in the past 18 months at Shotley.
