A woman has died following a two-vehicle collision in Wherstead.

Police were called at 7.25am this morning, Tuesday 5 September, to reports of a collision on The Strand near to the entrance to Suffolk Food Hall, involving a red Ford Fiesta and a white Isuzu D-Max pick-up.

Ambulance crews were also in attendance, but despite the best efforts of medical personnel the driver of the Ford Fiesta – a woman believed to be aged in her 30s – sadly died at the scene.

The road remains closed between the junctions with the A137 and the B1080 while collision investigation and recovery work continued until after 3pm.

Officers would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision and are also asking any motorists driving in the area at the time with a dashcam in their vehicle to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Joint Norfolk & Suffolk Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference: 37/51715/23.
