Welcome to your weekly what's on round up for the Shotley peninsula 

Every Thursday we collate all the eye-catching events occurring in your area over the weekend. 

Read on for the peninsula's not to be missed outings this week, and remember, you can add your event for free using the black Nub It button.

Start the weekend with a pirate head and a pirate heart and enjoy the RHS Chapel Choir and Holbrook Choral Society's abridged version of Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance.

Spring is in the air so get more musical fun on Sunday at Harkstead with a concert to celebrate the changing moods of the season at St Michael's Church, starts at 3pm.

Looking ahead to next week, the Shotley Pop Up Library opens at 1pm on Monday at the village hall.

Regular favourites, Tom's Tot Rock, Lego Club, health and wellbeing session in a warm space. This week there is a visit from Babergh's Customer Advice team, to help with all sorts of council issues, especially for those not online. Ganges ward councillor Derek Davis will be in attendance between 2pm-3pm, and the popular Rural Coffee Caravan will be supplying a hot drink.

Meanwhile, parents looking towards sending their children to primary school next September are invited to an open evening at Shotley Primary School on Wednesday morning (8 March). Full details here...

Even though the annual lock closure is in full swing at the Shotley marina, The Shipwreck is open for dog walkers, ramblers, sailors sightseers and cyclists.

Pop in for a meal, hot drink, or something a bit stronger.
