Wednesday's Peninsula Breakfast Briefing
Did you know:?
Britain's first 22 public telephone boxes came into service today in 1929. They were designed by Giles Gilbert Scott and installed as part of a new scheme for policing and were made available for general use in the Barnes, Kew and Richmond Districts. The red K6 phone boxes have become a British icon and although many are no longer used as phones, they remain as homes for book exchanges, defibrillators or tourist information points, in various villages round the peninsula.Today's Peninsula sunrise: 07.43

OpenWednesday's quote
'Gerry? Where are you?''London. A phone booth on Fleet Street.'
'The city still has working phone booths?''It would appear so. Unless this is the Tardis, in which case I'm in serious trouble.
Kate Morton
Joke of the day
What do you call an elephant in a phone box? Stuck.
