The largest of the leeches found in the UK, the Medicinal leech is the only one known to feed on human blood – though, don’t worry, they mostly find their fill from fish and other pondlife. Only needing to feed once every six months, the leech will engorge themselves when they get the chance, expanding up to ten times their size. Though they may look harmless to an untrained eye, the Medicinal leech has three jaws, with around 100 teeth. And they come with their own medical supplies.
