Brantham Leisure Centre and Brantham Village Hall in association with Brantham Parish Council are set to host a day of Jubilee celebration and good cheer.

Brantham Village Hall with the help of BVH manager, Stacey Duffett and Laurie Arthurs will be the highlight of the morning with a Historic Exhibition of Brantham between 10am-1pm.

The WI have kindly volunteered to help with refreshments. Brantham Bowls Club are also opening their gates for a free Jubilee bowls taster session on their beautifully kept green from 11am-1pm. All welcome.

From midday the field at Brantham Leisure Centre will come alive and launch the Brantham Village Platinum Jubilee party with a full programme of music and dance on a Trailer and arena. There are Beefeater stilt walkers, inflatables and a tea cup ride, a face paint tent, penalty shoot out competition by BAFC, village tug of war and a Royal Corgi treasure hunt.

All residents of Brantham have been delivered invitations to the event which includes the complimentary Mad Hatters tea party.

This scene will be set by Brantham's amateur dramatic group 'BATS' led by Mark Hinson and supported by our local Brownies.

Also included in the resident ticket is a free ice cream for all the children of Brantham.

Brantham Parish Council has kindly funded with additional support from Brantham Leisure Centre this once in a millennium event that sets to involve the whole village.

Brantham PC has also arranged special Platinum Jubilee Mugs for all of the children of Brantham too.

Alastair McCraw, chairman of BPC is so passionate about this event being one to go down in the history books of the village and it has the making of just that.

It is all very exciting and bunting is already going up in and around the Leisure Centre.

Chief organiser and Brantham Leisure Centre manager, Louise Madley is astounded at the response of help and kindness from the village and said she hopes the afternoon unites the community of all ages for this very special occasion.

Volunteers are invited to help with the huge task of sandwich making at the Leisure Centre from 9am Thursday morning and will be accepting donations of cakes/bakes from this time too.

Tickets are available to purchase for non-residents through http://www.bookwhen.com/branthamleisurecentre at a price of £5 per Adult and £3 per child, buggies are free.

Proceeds will be supporting East Anglia's Children Hospices (EACH). All attendees are encouraged to bring chairs for the afternoon as seating is limited.
