Sunday's Breakfast Briefing

By Derek Davis

31st May 2020 | Local News

Did You Know?

Today is Whitsunday which is variously believed to be a shortening of "White Sunday" or to have its origins in the Anglo-Saxon word "wit", meaning "understanding". It could reflect the festival being a day for baptisms – when worshippers traditionally wear white – or the disciples being filled with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.

Thought for the week

Government guidance around non-essential contact, advices that public worship is suspended until further notice.

In the absence of church services here is a verse from Andrew Coulson, and Pentecostal pause for the week:

"May you be made strong with all the strength which comes from God's glorious power, so that you may be able to endure everything with patience. - Colossians 1 verse 11"
