Royal Hospital School in Holbrook is celebrating following the success of their Equestrian team.

On Saturday 20 May, RHS' talented riders Maisy, Mia, Molly, Martha, Sophie, Harriet and Holly showcased their skills at The Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Competing in front of The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the team's outstanding performance earned them a remarkable sixth place out of 30 teams.

They demonstrated the highest level of sportsmanship and professionalism.

Sophie represented the RHS team in The Jump, only the top 15 teams from the first round can compete in The Jump.

Sophie produced a quick clear round, taking the team into 6th place. Making it the first time that the school has reached The Jump phase.

The Royal Windsor Horse Show is a horse show held annually since 1943 for five days in May or June in Windsor Home Park.

The show is the only one in the United Kingdom to host international competition for dressage, show jumping, carriage driving and endurance riding. In addition, there are over 130 showing classes.

Harriet from the RHS Equestrian team said: 'It was such an amazing experience to go to such a prestigious show and ride in the main arena in front of the castle. A highlight for me was the lap of honour with all of the crowd cheering as we cantered around.'

Pupils at RHS may choose horse riding as part of their games programme or as an after-school activity, which takes place at a local riding school just a five-minute drive away.

It is a popular option for all levels of ability, with the more able taking part in local, regional and national competitions.
