Shotley peninsula: Three parishes need new councillors

By Derek Davis

28th Sep 2021 | Local News

Three parish councils on the Shotley peninsula have vacancies following resignations.

Brantham, Holbrook and Shotley are all looking for volunteers to step forward to fill the positions, unless elections are called.

Unless 10 electors in each parish call for an election, then members can be co-opted by the existing councillors.

The positions are vacant after Gary Rasch stepped down from Brantham due to work commitments, Chris Sawyer has left Holbrook and Derek Davis has vacated his seat at Shotley, with both stepping aside to allow fresh blood move onto their respective parishes.

Councillor Davis remains the village's district councillor and a cabinet member for communities at Babergh.

For more details either contact your individual parish clerk or go to Babergh's election page here...
