A Shotley peninsula farm will be featured in a new Morrison's advert screened ahead of the England v Scotland game tonight.

A farm building at Will Wrinch's farm near Harkstead was used in an advert for supermarket chain Morrison highlighting its high quality vegetables.

It will be shown tonight at 7.50pm on ITV as part of the channel's preview to the Euros group game between the Old Enemy, which kicks off at 8pm.

Morrisons contacted Mr Wrinch last month as his farm sends around 800 tonnes of potatoes to the supermarket and wanted a genuine English farmer to feature.

Mr Wrinch said: "It was really exciting to be a part of and that it's really positive to see Morrison's encouraging all communities to understand the value of good, nutritious UK produced food. Buying British is always be best."

Film crews came to the peninsula last month to film and while only a few seconds of the Wrinch farm is showed, it plays an important role in their message: "When we care how our food is grown and made, we can all Make Good Things Happen.

We're on a mission to make good things happen not only for our customers, but also for colleagues, suppliers and society as a whole!

The point is, if we care a bit more about how our food's grown and made, we can make good things happen for everyone."
