Peninsula Pub takeaways offer alternative for now as McDonalds close across UK
By Derek Davis 23rd Mar 2020
A raft of pubs on the peninsula are still offering takeaways for now just as McDonald's countrywide will close by 7pm today.
However, the Brantham Bull has decided not to carry on selling takeaways, despite a relatively successful weekend, and has closed the doors until further notice.
Paula and Gemma Chenery told customers: "At the end of the day we are being told to stay indoors to protect ourselves against a very dangerous virus and we need to do what's right for our family, staff and customers.
"So today we have decided to close the doors until further notice , we have put everything in to the Brantham bull for eight years and this year we can definitely say it has been the hardest of them all
but we will be back, we just have to be patient." Meanwhile, all the fast-food chain's restaurants in the UK and Ireland are shutting as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. However, the company has pledged to work with community groups to distribute food and drink. The move comes after the Government ordered restaurants, cafes, pubs and other public places to close in a bid to stem the spread of the disease.
