Peninsula GP leads health and fitness event for over 50s with SOS at village hall
A Shotley peninsula GP is leading a campaign for the Over 50s to take part in a 'Functional Fitness MOT' at village hall tomorrow.
Doctor Chris Rufford, who practices at the Holbrook and Shotley surgeries, will be outlining the benefits of how little changes to your lifestyle can make big differences to your health, when he speaks at Shotley Village Hall, from 1.30pm on Wednesday, 24.
Keen cyclist Dr Rufford will be joined by Shotley Open Spaces chairman Gary Richen who will explain how walking and talking is so good for you, it can be prescribed by some GPs.
Advice will be available from Janet Lawrence, project officer from the Suffolk Rural Primary Care Network Active Wellbeing Service, on activities available locally to help improve overall health and fitness.
This event is for residents of Shotley peninsula aged 50 and above who would like know more about small changes in lifestyle that can make a big difference in health.
