Meet the Millers - Britain's Funniest family

A peninsula family are to appear in full comic colour in the Beano after winning a prestigious competition.

The Millers have been named Britain Funniest Family, after winning in the Song and dance category, and then emerged as overall victors.

Katrina Miller, who was Shotley born, worked at the High School and also lived in Stutton, created a hilarious home version of Queens 'Don't Stop Us Now', along with Scott, Devon and Lola.

"We are thrilled to be crowned Britain's funniest family," said Mrs MIller. "We want to thank every single person who took the time to vote for us especially all our friends and family in the peninsula."

The four held off stiff competition from another peninsula family and others from Barry, Temple Cloud and Abingdon to scoop the title.

Shotley's Michelle Broom, husband Colin and their two children, made a comic short video of them all singing and dancing to make the top five.

Comedian Romesh Ranganathan and a panel of Beano gag makers shortlisted the finalists, but the eventual winners were chosen by public vote online.

The Millers will now be drawn into the Beano in full colour as part of a a comic storyline and they also won:

-A one year subscription to the Beano for the family and five friends

-Britain's Funniest Family of 2020 Beano trophy

-One Nintendo Switch
