Update with Suffolk Highways response:

A frustrated resident has taken a humorous approach to along standing flooding issue on the Shotley peninsula.

A 'No Fishing' sign has been planted next to what has become a pond at Church Lane in Brantham.

The approach is the latest in an attempt to get Suffolk Highways to sort the issue, believed to be partially caused by a blocked drain, which has been an ongoing problem for more than year.

A new report was posted on Sunday after churchgoers were affected by the flood.

"Historically and regularly reported for uncounted years and still not fixed.

"See Report from January. Blocked Drain. Road floods after every little shower.

"People are laughing at you, possibly justifiably."

Suffolk Highways responded by going out to look at it today and said on our Twitter feed: "We've now been out to investigate this, unfortunately it doesn't look like a quick fix and is likely to require some more complex work. This has now been passed to our specialist drainage team who will assess it further.

"Thank you for bringing it to our attention".
