How and where to dispose of your Christmas tree on the Shotley peninsula

Babergh is offering a real Christmas tree recycling scheme on the Shotley peninsula from Monday.

If you have a garden waste (brown) bin - During January, you can leave your real Christmas tree*, with all decorations removed, beside your brown bin on collection day.

Don't have a brown bin? You can recycle your real Christmas tree, with all decorations removed, at one of our collection points listed below. Alternatively, you can take the tree to a Suffolk Recycling Centre.

  • Large trees (trees that are more than 7ft tall/have a 3 inch trunk), can only be collected via a collection point, or taken to a Suffolk Recycling Centre.

Chelmondiston: Collimer Close Car Park, Monday - 4 January

Harkstead: Millennium Green, opposite the Village Hall Monday - 4 January

Stutton:Community Hall, Monday - 4 January

Friday 1 January - Monday 4 January - three days later

Monday 4 January - Tuesday 5 January - one day later

Tuesday 5 January - Wednesday 6 January - one day later

Wednesday 6 January - Thursday 7 January - one day later

Thursday 7 January - Friday 8 January - one day later

Friday 8 January - Saturday 9 January - one day later

From Monday 11th January 2021 refuse and recycling collections return to the normal schedule.
