Hadleigh United has launched a fund-raising drive for one of its players unable to work after suffering a serious head injury following a fan.

Self-employed Jordan Patrick was was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital following the accident and found to have a bleed on the brain.

The 32-year-old midfielder is now recovering at home with his young family but has no income.

Hadleigh United manager Steve Holder is calling on the football community to help out Patrick, who has also played for Bury Town, Cambridge United, St Ives, and Needham Market.

JP, as he is known, signed for Hadleigh in 2021 but playing time has been restricted this season due to a groin injury early in the campaign.
