Garage to open for petrol and repairs on the peninsula

A garage selling petrol and carrying out repairs has become the latest business to announce it will reopen on the peninsula.

Shotley Corner Garage plans to switch on the pumps and open the workshop doors at 8am, Monday June 1, as they look to get back to as normal as possible.

Social distancing will be observed and appointment can be made by calling 787261.

Parkers Garage in Shotley Gate opened last week and some exhaust and tyre centres in Ipswich have started to open up.

Christian Zemann, owner of the foot and cycle ferry between Shotley, Harwich and Felixstowe is running a reduced service in terms of timetable and only allowing 12 passengers per trip. Check available times here...

Cyclists were the main users of the ferry over the weekend, as hundreds flocked to the peninsula over the weekend. Jet skiers were off the Shotley waterfront, while canoeists launched from further down the river Stour.

More businesses are preparing to come back next month, or early July, when government restrictions are lifted, including the Peninsula Barber, who is the latest trader to join our free and easy to use Local List Directory

Construction sites are getting back into fulls wing, depending on materials, with building going on in in Brantham, Chelmondiston and Admiralty Pier, Shotley Gate.
