Police and the Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue Service have trawled through the former HMS Ganges site in their hunt for a missing man.

Mason Seymour, who has connections to Shotley and was last officially known to be in the village has been missing from his Ipswich home since July 29.

A vigilant villager believes she spotted Mason in Caledonian Road and flagged down a passing police car on Friday, which prompted the search in the sprawling Ganges site.

Police have handed out posters and made general enquiries, mainly in Shotley Gate, for two weeks now.

A man, who has a resemblance to Mason, has mistakenly identified as the missing person and police are aware of the similarity and his location.

Meanwhile police are concerned for Mason nd would like him together in touch.

A police spokesman told Nub news: "Mason Seymour remains a missing person and police, in conjunction with Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue, among other partners, have been carrying out searches within the Shotley and nearby area in order to locate him.

"Officers remain concerned for Mason's welfare and are asking anyone who believes they have seen him, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts, to contact Suffolk police 101."

Mason if you, or one of your friends is reading this and you do not want to contact police, get in touch, so we can reassure those concerned for your welfare. ([email protected]) or 07824167196.
