Motorists were delayed for short while this afternoon and part of the main Shotley peninsula road was left scarred after an incident with an agricultural vehicle this afternoon.

A 10-metre long gouge, along with two other shorter marks were left and chipping were eft strewn along the B1456 on Freston Hill.

The road heading towards Ipswich, between the Freston Boot and Monkey Lodge was gouged open, with a scar almost an inch deep in parts was obvious.

Witnesses claimed delays were caused on the Strand as a tractor was recovered at around 2.30pm Sunday afternoon, with visitors and residents held up.

No injuries were reported and the emergency services did not attend, although a police car was seen at the scene later in the afternoon.
