Defiant staff at Fields Farm Shop and Cafe have vowed to be completely ready to reopen today, and in time for Mothering Sunday, after a break-in left them shocked and upset.

The popular destination between Brantham and East Bergholt will reopen today after spending yesterday cleaning up, and hosting a police forensic team, following the break in over night on Tuesday/Wednesday of this week.

Tabo Parker, a spokesperson for Fields Farm Shop and Cafe told Nub News last night: "Today has been quite sad.

"For a small family run business it's been a shock to the system, however as a team we have rallied and have been so thankful for all the support we have had today and this evening.

"We have had so many wonderful, supportive messages from the community and peninsula.

"We have been so grateful for everyone getting in touch with us to make sure all the team and animals are safe and well.

"The Farm Shop & Restaurant look better than ever, our silver- lining has been getting our site ready to welcome everyone for the following weeks and of course Mother's Day this Sunday."

A Suffolk police spokesperson added: "A burglary was reported to us that took place between 8.30pm (Tuesday) and 8.15am (Wednesday).

"The front door of business was smashed, with damage inside and an amount of cash stolen.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police quoting crime reference 37/12624/24."
