Suffolk FA have advised that all football related activities cease immediately.

This includes games on the peninsula including Shotley, Pin Mill, Holbrook and Brantham.

An FA spokesman said: "Following the announcement from government advising against all non-essential travel and social contact, we advise all football-related activity in Suffolk be suspended until further notice. This includes all face-to-face training, matches, hearings, courses and meetings of any kind, with immediate effect where possible.

"Suffolk FA staff will continue to be available via the main office number and emails.

"Further updates will be communicated in line with government advice.

"We continue to wish the Suffolk football community well and urge everyone to continue to adhere to the latest public health advice."

Paul Moore, chairman of Holbrook Hornets said: "As an affiliated Club, it would be unwise for us to go against FA advice. Therefore, sadly, all Holbrook Hornets football activities (training & matches) must cease until further notice.

I know lots will be disappointed, but we are in uncertain times; we will make judgements as time goes on and as further advice is received."
