A talented Chelmondiston culinary chef is among students from Suffolk New College one step away from being crowned Young Restaurant Team of the Year.

Phoebe Chew is looking to go one better than the semi-final spot they achieved last year before being knocked out.

Now, having impressed judges in the early rounds this time round, they have qualified for the national final which will be held in Sheffield in June.

Made up of two chefs and a front of house expert, the trio, made up of Phoebe, Davide Oggero and Ella Amos, are hoping for glory ahead of this final.

Phoebe along with Davide and Phoebe, was part of the team that was knocked out at the semi-final stage last year.

The 17-year-old Phoebe, said: "We learnt lots from last time and to get through to the finals is a big achievement.

The winning team will receive a trip to France in addition to a dinner at The Savoy Hotel in London.
