Children's Support Worker - Mental Health Your new company Hays are proud to be working on behalf of a reputable organisation that provide support to children in a residential setting that have mental health conditions. This company provide care, support and emotional support to these children aged 8-18 years of age.Your new role As a Support Worker you will be required to support children within the residential home with everyday life. Your main duty is to promote independence for these children so they are able to undertake a healthy and independent life. You will be responsible for taking children out into the community and organising and being involved in activities. You will also be a key part of these children's mental health recovery and will be trained to give support in distressing situations.The shifts of this position will vary between earlys, lates and long days and occasionally some nights and sleep ins. Your rota will be given in advance and can be discussed further in interview.What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role you MUST be able to drive as this role will involve transporting the children to and from schools and to activities within the community.To be successful in this role you MUST have right to work in the UK and be living hereTo be considered for this role you must also have experience within the social care industry. They have services in Hadleigh, Suffolk.The role involves working in a supported living residential setting for vulnerable children aged 8 - 18 with learning disabilities and autism and some with emotional and behavioural difficulties which have been caused from trauma and abuse. This service is based over two different homes with 5-6 service users in each residence. You will be contracted to only working days as they have a dedicated team for nights as well as days.This role will involve supporting individuals with everyday life which includes personal care, emotional care and support, building relationships with children and supporting these children within their education and development into adulthood.In order to be successful in your application you must have a passion and drive to work in social care.
