Three councillors from the Shotley peninsula have been handed key roles in a Babergh council reshuffle.
Mary McLaren has stepped up to become chair of the Overview and Scrutiny (O&S} committee, following previous chairman Alastair McCraw's elevation to the Babergh cabinet along with Derek Davis.

A working group has been set up in Erwarton to buy the Queen's Head pub for the community.
Half a dozen volunteers, led by Erwarton Parish meeting chairman William Wrinch, stepped forward last night at a meeting in St Mary's Church, to form the new group.

This is my 17-year-old lad Albie speaking, sitting opposite while we are enjoying dinner together, smiling, full of life, taking the Mickey. I smiled inwardly, and gently explained why I'm putting myself through this for the Samaritans but have to admit being shocked when he asked: "What is the Samaritans?'

Nub News has been successful in its application to join in the Kickstart Scheme to give two community journalist hopefuls an avenue into the industry.
Using the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce gateway, Nub News went through a process with the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to be accepted onto the government scheme. We will employ two community reporters aged between 16-24 for its Shotley peninsula Nub News, along with its sister sites in Felixstowe and Hadleigh.

The latest development at the Stour View site in Brantham will open for pubic viewing this weekend.
Taylor Wimpey will be showcasing the potential new homes ranging from two to five bedrooms at the site in Brooklands Road on Sunday, and Bank Holiday Monday.
