Takeaway Review: Dolly's Pizzas

By Derek Davis

With many pubs and takeaways fighting a bitter battle just to survive, the Hungry Hack has decided to try out each one of the menus we get to know about.

This time I met the lovely Fiona who runs the mobile Dolly's Pizza and enjoyed a lovely takeaway and chat.

There is something about these sorts of pizza ovens that are really appealing, maybe it is the waft of them cooking, or just watching it all being put together.

Anyway, we we went for a meat feast, a pepperoni and garlic bread.

As my teenage son was hungry we cut it into eight pieces, rather than the usual six, to fill him up.

Cooked by willing volunteer Henry, they were all as good as they looked and a fiver per pizza, great value.

Dollly's Pizzas is also donating pizzas to NHS, police, carers and other key workers keeping this country running. Fiona will donate another pizza for every one bought for the workers, or you can help by just donating a little extra when you pay for your food, to add to the pot.

While they will take cash as a last resort, payment by contactless is preferable and it really is as easy as plonking your card on the little white Square.

Being mobile means Dolly's Pizza will pop up in all sorts of places at different times. They will be in Holbrook community car park tomorrow (Wednesday) and in the Stutton community car park on Friday, both from 4pm to 7pm.

We ordered ahead on 078560 70123 and were given a collection time as they are working in line with government guidelines and can't have people by the van for long or too many.

  • When ordering and wish to pay by invoice please give your:
Name

Email address

Tel number

Time you would like (we will try to be as close to this as we can)

Along with pizza order.

We will reply with confirmation.

A limited delivery service for those in isolation - please ask.
