Through testing pandemic times, there comes teamwork and great bonds
The coronavirus pandemic has been an extremely difficult time for many business owners due to restrictions on trading and lockdown.
This caused a local business Suffolk Caring Companions to adapt its business.
Suffolk Caring Companions offered bespoke companionship, outings along with other services. Due to coronavirus there was less demand due to ensuring people were protected, people were asked to stay at home and many of our clients were asked to shield for twelve weeks.
We Simply Care, a domiciliary home care provider based in Capel St Mary, found that their service was seeing an increased demand as people were recovering from the Covid-19 and required support, existing customers required an increased level of support along with the usual demand on health care, ensuring that individuals can remain in their own homes.
Over the past year Sarah, the owner of Suffolk Caring Companions and Jinienei the owner of We Simply Care, had been building a professional relationship, supporting each other as business owners and we shared several customers.
Sarah was attracted to amalgamating with We Simply Care after witnessing first-hand the quality of service they provide to their client's and said: "The staff at We imply care are so kind, caring and go out of their way to ensure every client is happy. No job too small or too big is an issue for them. I witnessed one of their care specialists sewing a button back on clothing for one of their clients. At this point I knew they had the same morals as my business."
So, when vulnerable individuals had to shield, and Suffolk Caring Companions client list decreased Sarah begun supporting Jinienei through the busy period, which has now resulted in Suffolk Caring Companions amalgamating with We Simply Care.
With combined knowledge of the health and social care sector and business management, Sarah and Jinienei are excited to build the already thriving business.
We Simply Care are now able to support more individuals in the local community with bespoke services. In the coming months they will also be able to offer accredited training to other social care organisations.
Our aim is to continue supporting vulnerable adults to remain as independent as possible in their own homes, to provide support to other community projects such as Suffolk Mind and Ipswich Dementia Action Alliance.

Jo Braxton 13 Jun 2020We Simply Care are efficient, reliable, well organised, flexible and, above all, caring.
Their excellent support has enabled my elderly Mum to stay in her own home. Nothing is too much trouble and there is always time for a chat. The whole team are marvellous. Fiona 13 Jun 2020The carers are friendly yet professional. Nothing is too much trouble. During the COVID-19 pandemic they have worn masks (and visors if requested) although their PPI is very good at all times. They all deserve gold stars âï¸
