Plans to improve bus services under a new £3billion government scheme will not solve problems around the availability of rural bus services in Suffolk, according to the opposition Green Party's group.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Bus Back Better campaign aims to restructure the way bus services are run into "enhanced partnership" models where operators and the local transport authorities work together.

A significant new funding scheme to deliver an economic boost and support recovery from Covid is now available to businesses and not-for-profit organisations in Babergh, including those on the Shotley peninsula.

The Back to Business Grant is a one-off payment of up to £25,000 to support businesses in their recovery from the impact of Covid 19 and improve their long-term sustainability through resilience and diversification projects.

Retired nurses Daphne Shave, 86, Kathleen Caley, 80, and Margaret McGirr, 88, are all now residents at Spring Lodge care home, in Woolverstone, where staff prepared a special surprise, presenting them with flowers and chocolates ahead of a celebratory afternoon tea.

Gloria Henshall was being cared for at Spring Lodge, Woolverstone and Ruthie praised the staff at the care home but directed her anger at the guidance which prevented her and her sister Susan from visiting more, and how some care providers are still not allowing personal visits.
